  La quinta edizione dell’ormai storico Learning Perl si pone come pietra miliare della programmazione con questo linguaggio e in generale; un libro spiccatamente innovativo, anche dopo quindici anni dalla prima edizione, dato l’approccio volutamente semplice e diretto per favorire l’apprendimento anche ai meno esperti nella programmazione in generale.

  Il volume può essere benissimo visto come libro di testo - e per alcuni versi così è strutturato - per un ideale corso su questo linguaggio, data la presenza di esercizi a fine capitolo con relativi tempi di svolgimento, soluzioni di questi alla fine del volume, ma soprattutto grazie ad un linguaggio chiaro e semplice, che oltre ad essere comprensibile anche a chi non è esattamente padrone della lingua inglese, riesce in alcuni tratti a divertire il lettore, facilitando quindi l’apprendimento.
