The Great Joe Armstrong - creator of Erlang and author of the bestselling Erlang book Programming Erlang - Software for a Concurrent World - was good enough to spend a few minutes at Skillsmatter's Erlang eXchange nattering to me about Erlang, his book and his publishers, Pragmatic Programmers.

O'Reilly, too, are stepping into the Functional Programming arena with two books lined up on Haskell and Erlang. Real World Haskell, by Bryan O'Sullivan, Donald Bruce Stewart and John Goerzen, is due in October, while Practical Erlang, written by Francesco Cesarini and Simon Thompson, should emerge sometime next year.
